What to know
before you book.

The honest bit — the trade-offs first, not buried. Drawn from recurring themes in real guest reviews, with weather and one-offs filtered out.

What's included
The ultra all-inclusive rate covers all buffet meals, local alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks, snacks, ice cream, a stocked daily minibar, sun loungers and parasols at the pool and beach, and use of most sports facilities. Premium imported spirits, some à la carte covers, spa treatments, and watersports such as windsurfing and jet skiing carry an additional charge.
The beach
The private Blue Flag sandy beach is well-kept and spacious with a jetty and watersports centre. Note that the shoreline can slope steeply into the water and the open Mediterranean position makes it breezy, so high-SPF sun cream is advisable.
The food
The main buffet draws consistent praise for variety and quality, with Turkish dishes and fresh breakfasts highlighted; à la carte restaurants are a popular upgrade, though some guests note the buffet desserts can look better than they taste and restaurant opening times — lunch from 12:30 — can feel late for families with young children.
Best for
Families, couples, and repeat guests seeking a fuss-free, well-staffed Mediterranean all-inclusive with genuine beach access and a lively but not overwhelming animation programme. Solo travellers or those wanting boutique quiet may find the resort scale and predominantly package-holiday crowd less suitable.
Size & feel
At 322 rooms, Melas Lara is one of the smaller hotels on the Lara strip, which gives it a warmer, more personal atmosphere than its giant neighbours — though sunbed spots by the main pool can fill by 8 am in peak summer. Evening entertainment has historically been delivered mainly in German, reflecting the resort's primary market.
Getting there
Antalya Airport (AYT) is approximately 12–14 km away — roughly 20 minutes by taxi or private transfer; airport shuttles can be arranged at an extra charge. The city centre of Antalya is around 15 km distant, making day trips easy, but the resort strip itself is somewhat self-contained with limited walkable shopping.
